Mark 11:22-25; Faith can move mountains; The Doctrine of Faith Rest

In our study of Mark we are in Mark 11:22-25; where Jesus explains to His disciples the principles for the function of faith-rest and based on this we have taken up a study of faith-rest.

Last time we concluded with Isa 26:3-4 where we see that faith- rest a relaxed mental attitude and freedom from emotional mental attitude sins in the believer's soul.

v3 "A sustained purpose you will guard in perfect prosperity, because he trusts in You.

The believer who has doctrine resident in their soul and is advancing sustains the purpose and the will of God, and does so in perfect prosperity (peace or contentment of mind).

v4 "Trust in the Lord forever; for the Lord God is a rock of ages." The sustained purpose in this context is the daily function of growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ that produces the ammunition that can be fired toward the adversities of life from the stream of consciousness of the believer.

The production of faith-rest is described in numerous passages.

For example, faith-rest is absolutely necessary for prayer to function. Matt 21:22; Mark 11:24;

Everyone faces fear including fear of adversity, fear of danger, fear of death. Fear is an integral part of the slavery of the devil's world. Heb 2:15; There are many types of fear but application of doctrine through faith-rest defeats them all. 1 John 4:18;

Psa 56:3; shows us how faith-rest overcomes the mental attitude sin of fear.

The mental attitude sin of worry is also overcome by the function of faith-rest. 1Pet 5:7;

David was a man of faith rest as indicated by is writings in the Psalms. We see in his writing how his faith rest established tranquility of soul.

Psa 4:8; "I will both lay me down in peace and sleep; for You Lord only make me to dwell in safety."

Psa 34:19; "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of all of them."

Prov 3:5; "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

Psa 55:22; "Cast all your burdens upon the Lord and He shall sustain you; He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."

Psa 56:11; "In God I put my trust. I will not be afraid of what man can do to me."

Moses' words to Joshua and the people of the nation of Israel just before he died are filled with faith-rest.

Deut 31:2-8; And he said to them, "I am a hundred and twenty years old today; I am no longer able come and go, and the LORD has said to me, 'You shall not cross this Jordan.'

v3 "It is the LORD your God who will cross ahead of you; He will destroy these nations before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua is the one who will cross ahead of you, just as the LORD has spoken.

v4 "The LORD will do to them just as He did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land, when He destroyed them.

Deut 31:5; "The LORD will deliver them up before you, and you shall do to them according to all the commandments which I have commanded you.

v6 "Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you."

v7 Then Moses called to Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, "Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall give it to them as an inheritance.

Deut 31:8; "The LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be confused."

In Matt 8:13; we see that our faith rest can benefit others because Jesus answered the centurion's request for his son on the basis of his doctrinal belief in Jesus identity. His doctrinal belief was that Jesus was the Son of God and that He that could and He would heal and of course Jesus did according to his faith-rest. (doctrine in his soul)

The faith-rest drill is the problem-solving device used by believers in all dispensations and it is the shield of faith that extinguishes incoming missiles. Eph 6:16; It is a spiritual defense system that forms a shield like the Iron Dome or Patriot missile system.

Faith Rest is also the system that enables believers to learn God's Word. Col 2:6-7;
