Heb 4:12; The doctrine of doctrinal orientation part 4

Lam 3:21-25; I recall this (God's Word of truth) to my mind, and it gives me confidence. Because The Lord's mercy never fails; His grace provisions never cease, they are renewed every morning; Great is Your faithfulness... I therefore have hope in Him. The Lord is good to those who wait silently on Him.

We are presently in a study of the doctrine of winner believers Heb 12:2; Rev 2:7; who are the unknown, unsung heroes of history as God's witnesses in the prosecution of satan and the fallen angels. 2Cor 6:9; and who are the targets of God's grace imputations and one of the reason why God continues to support the human race in the evil adversity of the devil's world. 2Pet 3:9;

God's Word creates capacity for the believer to trust in God to work on their behalf even when they don't fully understand it. Doctrinal viewpoint is what enables the believer to have the patience to wait on God's timing. Isa 40:31; This is how winners are created.

We describe this viewpoint that is based in God's Word of truth as doctrinal orientation.

Doctrinal orientation Is established when the believer believes and places priority on what God's Word aka Bible Doctrine reveals and it begins to circulate in the believer's stream of consciousness and become the basis for their decision making process.

Heb 4:12; "For the word of God is alive and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to separate the soul and the spirit, both joints and marrow, able to evaluate the thoughts and the motivations of the heart."

Last time we were looking at the example of the application of the doctrine of verbal, plenary inspiration in Heb 10:35-38; "Therefore, do not throw away as worthless your confidence, which keeps on having rich distribution of blessing.

This tells us that the people being addressed were the Jewish believers in Jerusalem in 67 AD threw Bible doctrine away as worthless. This is recorded in Acts 28:25-27;

This happened because God's ritual plan for Israel was more important to them than God's protocol plan for the Church. Their scale of values was distorted with the result that they rejected God's Word of truth regarding God's protocol plan.

Heb 10:35; The Greek word translated "your confidence" is "parrhsia" that not only refers to confidence it actually refers to the doctrine in the soul that is the source of the confidence.

Confidence is a good translation of the word itself but the confidence being described is not produced by natural human ability it is produced by God because it is based on the immutability of God's Word of truth.

Once you become a member of God's royal family by believing in Jesus Christ your confidence is based on the power of God's Word or Bible doctrine that is resident in your soul so they are being told "not to throw away your confidence in Bible doctrine."

"Which" (their confidence in doctrine) keeps" The word "keeps" is in the present linear tense that describes a condition that is assumed to be perpetually existing so it is taken for granted as an existing reality.

The active voice: confidence in doctrine is the subject and it produces the action of the verb. The indicative mood is a dogmatic statement of fact that states "that confidence in doctrine that you keep having an holding."

You keep having doctrine means you keep taking it in. You on keep on holding doctrine and in the holding of doctrine you not only continue to take it in but the more you take in the more doctrine you have so the more you are able to use.

You keep on having doctrine that has a "great reward." This is not talking about having a future reward that is a true it is talking about having a great reward in time.

In our previous study we noted that it is God's objective to provide supergrace blessings for every believer in time. 1Tim 2:4; We noted God's targets His Word of truth with supergrace blessing.

The objective for your spiritual life is supergrace blessing, not simply provision. God guarantees that he will to keep you alive as long as His plan calls for you to be alive, so He will automatically provide for all of your needs. The point is that this great reward that is being described is not only for the future it is for right now in the devil's world.

Heb 10:35; The Greek adjective "mega" is translated "great" is an ok translation but not the best one because the word actually means "rich".

The Greek word translated "reward" is "misthapodosa" is a compound word that is made up of "mistho" means wages that describes a monetary payment; and "podidomai" means to give in expectation.

This tells us that we should expect blessing from God because His Word tells us it is coming when we hold on to the doctrine. When these words are put together it means a rich distribution of materialistic blessings. This passage is referring to a materialistic category of supergrace blessings that is available every believer during their life in the devil's world in time,
