2Chron 7:14; NET if my people, who belong to me, humble themselves, pray, seek to please me, and repudiate their sinful practices, then I will respond from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.
In our study we have been noting the consequences of the inversion of thought that is the product of negative volition to God's Word of truth and have been noting passages that describe the destruction of the Israelite client nations who compromised with truth with the result that they rejected God's Word.
We are looking at God's warning to the Northern Kingdom of Israel in Hosea 4:1-6 and the corresponding passage in Jeremiah where we see the same kind of events occurring in the Southern Kingdom of Judah about 150 years later.
We left off in Jer 9:12; Who is the wise man that may Understand this? And who is he to whom the mouth of the LORD has spoken, that he may declare it? Why is the land ruined, laid waste like a desert so desolate that no on can pass through?
These questions indicate the necessity for a communicator to recognize, understand and warn the people of the impending national disaster.
A man may possess the spiritual gift of pastor-teacher; but if he is devoid of truth in his soul, he is disoriented to contemporary history and is therefore totally inadequate and ineffective with regard to warning the nation.
He may speak with eloquent language and effectively say nothing beautifully, but it is still nothing. Unfortunately just as it was in Israel and Judah it is true of too many communicators in our country who do not recognize the implications of our national zeitgeist.
Jer 9:13-14; The LORD said, "Because they have forsaken My law which I set before them, and have not obeyed My voice nor walked according to it,
v14 but have walked after the stubbornness of their heart and after the Baals, (Child sacrifice and sex cult) (Deut 18:10-11; Jer 32:33-36;) as their fathers taught them,"
For something to be forsaken or deserted it must be something that was previously possessed.
This means that at one time these people knew God's Word of truth and they had been advancing spiritually; but they compromised, gone negative and rejected truth with the result that their thinking was inverted resulting in their losing what had formerly possessed.
This will certainly be the case for those who forsake face-to-face teaching and in addition reject or neglect other methods that are available for learning the Word of God.
Without the regular inculcation of God's Word of Truth into your thinking you become vulnerable to demon doctrine that leads to the stages of reversionism, and eventually God's must destroy reversionism to protect the future of the human race.
God judged the nations of Judah and Israel because they compromised with the lie that resulted in their becoming completely devoid of truth and being ensnared in the demonism Baal worship and the phallic cult.
Phallic reversionism is degeneracy through self-indulgence, sensuality and eroticism. It is found throughout the Bible, (2Cor 12:21; Eph 4:19; Eph 5:5; Col 3:5; 1Pet 4:3; Jude 1:4;) but its practice flourished as an organized religion with the idolatrous Canaanites before the Israelites occupied the land.
Despite God's specific mandates and His warnings against "socializing" with the Canaanites, the Jews repeatedly compromised with them with the result that they ended up "a-whoring" after Baal.
The Jews initially conquered the Canaanites on the battlefield but they did not totally destroy them as God had commanded in (Deut 7:1-11; NET) so the Canaanite religion eventually conquered the Jews through apostasy 2Cor 6:14-18;
There can be no accord or compromise between God's Word and demon doctrine because they are antithetical and in complete and total opposition and they cannot coexist. 1John 1:5;
That means that at any given time the zeitgeist of any given nation will reject one and accept the other.. Deut 30:19-20; Our country is at such a tipping point at this time and the consequences of the choice will determine the destiny of our nation.
Because God is sovereign and immutable, apart from repentance, the finale of a reversionistic nation must be destruction. Jer 9:12; and along with destruction comes the loss of freedom; as those who are the victims of the destruction are killed or enslaved.
This brings us back to Hosea 4:6;"My people are destroyed", the niphal perfect of the Hebrew word "damah" that means total defeat, to be taken over by the enemy.
The cause of the defeat is "Lack of knowledge" that refers to lack of God's Word of truth in the thinking of the people.
"because you have rejected knowledge" we have noted that the word translated "rejected" is the qal perfect of the Hebrew word "maas" that means to neglect and disregard and then scorn with the result that you end up hating and despising doctrinal truth.
"I will reject you as being My priest since you have forgotten the law of your God (Bible doctrine) I will also forget your children" (loss of the blessings and protection of God that perpetuate the nation).
All freedoms, including privacy and property disappear, it happened in the northern kingdom of Israel in 721 B.C., the southern kingdom of Judah in 586 B.C., in Judea in 70 AD and it is a real possibility the United States.
The illustrations of national reversionism in Israel and Judah are comparable to what we see in our own country at this time and it should alert us to the fact that the citizens of our nation desperately need to return to the truth of God's Word.
The only way to avert such a disaster is for believers to prioritize their advance to spiritual maturity by prioritizing God's Word in their lives.
Doctrinal truth must be first in importance. God's Word in our in the soul is the "glory of Christ inside us". Col 1:25-29;
Christ the Living Word is our protection. He is the wall of fire that protects in personal and national disaster.
Doctrinal truth is the exclusive basis for happiness and recovery from reversionism and the only way to pass the prosperity test.
