Exodus 20:4-6; "You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.

In our study we have been noting the consequences of the inversion of thought that is the product of negative volition to God's Word of truth and have been noting passages that describe the destruction of the Israelite client nations who compromised with truth with the result that they rejected God's Word.
We are looking at God's warning to the Northern Kingdom of Israel in Hosea 4:1-6 and the corresponding passage in Jeremiah 8 and 9 where we see the same kind of events occurring in the Southern Kingdom of Judah about 150 years later.
We have noted that the national reversionism in Israel and Judah are comparable to what we see in our own country at this time and it should alert us to the fact that the citizens of our nation desperately need to return to the truth of God's Word.
The only way to avert such a disaster is for believers to prioritize their advance to spiritual maturity by prioritizing God's Word in their lives.
Doctrinal truth must be first in importance. God's Word in our in the soul is the "glory of Christ inside us". Col 1:25-29;
Christ the Living Word is our protection. He is the wall of fire that protects in personal and national disaster.
Doctrinal truth is the exclusive basis for happiness and recovery from reversionism and the only way to pass the prosperity test by maintaining focus on the giver rather than the gift.
False worship of anything including one's self; produces moral and immoral degeneracy toward God.
Human morality toward people and circumstances produces moral degeneracy and human self-righteousness toward God. True worship of God produces virtue-morality toward people and circumstances because a right thing is done in a right way for the right reason.
Under the principle of the Divine solution is the only solution and the human solution is no solution, the Divine solution of spirit and truth is the only solution and morality from the strong side of human sin nature is no solution.
The supernatural spiritual life requires a supernatural means in order to comply with it. (Rom 8:4; John 4:23-24; That supernatural means is the filling ministry of God the Holy Spirit. Eph 5:18; that provides the mentor ministry of God the Holy Spirit. Gal 5:16;
The recall and application of doctrine (the faith) under the mentorship of God the Holy Spirit is the only hope. Eph 2:12; 1Cor 13:13; Rom 8:24-25; Heb 11:1; 2Tim 3:16;
