Psalm 91:1-10; 1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!"
3 For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper And from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.
5 You will not be afraid of the terror by night, Or of the arrow that flies by day;
6 Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, Or of the destruction that lays waste at noon.
7 A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, But it shall not approach you.
8 You will only look on with your eyes And see the recompense of the wicked.
9 For you have made the Lord, my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place.
10 No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near your tent.
1John 3:8; the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.
The works of the devil are evil, sin, and death. Jesus destroyed sin and death on the cross and He destroyed evil by the spiritual life that He lived in His unglorified humanity. 1Pet 3:18; Rom 5:8-10;
As members of His Royal Family we participate with Him in the destruction of evil when we live that same spiritual life. Rom 6:11; Col 1:27;
Gen 50:20;"As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.
God did not create evil but he uses it to advance His plan and His people.
Eph 6:10-18; Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His power.
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
14 Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of evil.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,
Rom 12:21; Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with divine good.
We are presently in a study of the doctrine of evil that is the product of believing the false narrative of the public lie that satan, the god of this world, fabricates and raises up in opposition to truth and righteousness that are the product of believing the Person and Word of the Living God of the universe.
Last time we noted that the works of the devil (aka evil) can only be destroyed when believers reside and function under the filling of the Holy Spirit inside God's spiritual power system because anything that is done apart from the filling ministry of the Holy Spirit and doctrine is evil.
A perfect example of evil is found in Matt 16:22;
We are the products of our own decisions; therefore, we bring disaster on ourselves with the bad choices that we make from a position of weakness in satan's cosmic system.
1John 2:1-2; teaches us that the Lord Jesus Christ is our Advocate who personally defends us against satan's accusations.
Satan seeks to frustrate God's plan for believers; by influencing their thinking Eph 4:14; their location, 1Thes 2:18; and their activity, James 4:7-8; 1Pet 5:6-10;
Satan especially seeks to keep believers from functioning under the filling of God the Holy Spirit inside of God's spiritual power system where they can learn how to deploy God's Word of truth against satan, John 8:31-32; Titus 2:11-14
