John 3:19; "This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.
When a battle is engaged the aggressor gets to pick the battlefield. Satan initiated his attack on God's righteousness by creating unrighteousness starting with the evil of sin followed by the evil of creature "good."
God did not engage satan on this bat field in fact he ceded ground to satan with the law that actually increased the incidence of sin and flooded the zone with it completely demonstrating that creatures cannot maintain or become righteous on the basis of works. Gal 3:24-25;
God engaged the battle on the basis of His Son, the Savior, Jesus Christ. First in prophesy (Gen 3:15;) then in reality. Rom 5:8; John 3:16-17;
God's nuclear option engagement was so powerful that it eliminated the basis of satan's assault and completely defeated him and at the same time God changed the venue of the battlefield from sin to the Son. Gal 4:3-7; Rom 8:1-4; Acts 16:31;
Anyone who engages on the basis of any form of human gooder evil merit is engaging on satan's evil battlefield with satan's tactics that God has already destroyed with Jesus on the cross. Phil 3;18-21;
Too many believers are engaged with sin the basis of human good rather than faith righteousness on the basis of grace by means of faith in Jesus Christ alone. Eph 2:8-0;
We are presently in a study of the doctrine of evil that is the product of believing the false narrative of the public lie aka darkness that satan, the god of this world, fabricates and asserts in his war against God's Word of truth aka light. Eph 6:12; 2Cor 10:5;
We are noting the 9 gates that lead into the hatred of satan's cosmic two system. When we stopped last time we were noting religion with its ritualism and legalism that is Satan's counterfeit for God's grace policy and plan.
Last time we were noting that divine omniscience provides discipline for evil and blessing for doctrine.
Thinking you are an exception to this and are an island unto yourself is in itself evil.
For the believer the pursuit of evil ends with the sin unto death. 1John 5:16-17;
Today, just as in the beginning, the consequences of partaking of the "forbidden fruit" of human good and evil is discipline from God. Gen 2:17;
Just as what you eat is metabolized and becomes a part of your physical body, evil thinking makes evil part of your soul. Prov 23:7a;
An entire system of self-induced misery and divine discipline comes along with human good and evil. Eph 5:16; is a summary statement that encompasses every principle related to evil..
Time is redeemed when the believer is filled with the Spirit and making maximum application of doctrine from the stream of consciousness of the soul. Doctrine in the soul renovates the thinking by eradicating and replacing evil with doctrinal reality, Psa 54:5; Rom 12:21. Eph 4:13; Rom 12:3;
When a person comes under the influence of evil, metabolizing doctrine under the ministry of God the Holy Spirit is the only way any recovery is possible. For the unbeliever this starts with John 3:16; for the believer it starts with 1John 1:9;
The overarching mandate regarding evil is found in Rom 12:21: "Stop being conquered by evil, but conquer evil by means of good (divine good)."
This overarching mandate refers to the function of God's plan. The divine system for the administration of the good is residence and function under the ministry of God the Holy Spirit inside God's spiritual power system through the application of doctrinal truth.

This means that the only way to "overcome evil with good" is to advance in the plan of God under the ministry of God the Holy Spirit through the daily perception, metabolization and application of doctrine. Gal 5:16; Titus 2:11-12;
Psa 38:19-20; and Psa 52:1-4; reveal that evil distorts grace. Grace does not come through to those who are under the influence of evil. This also reveals that anytime a person follows the absolute good and doctrine, he becomes the target for both overt and subtle attacks from evil.
