We are presently in a study of Jonah, Nineveh and Nemesis and now Israel Judah Assyria and Nemesis where we see God's policy of grace before judgment. God always provides the opportunity for repentance before he executes judgment.

Those who were listening carefully could discern that the personal possessive pronoun was missing once the Jews arrive in Assyria and that the only benefit for agreeing to this maleficent peace treaty is that "they will live and not die."
Sennacherib grants an unprecedented concession to the Jews while he is organizing their deportation back to Assyria. He will systematically select those he thinks will make good slaves and tell them they won't believe how good life is in Assyria.
The principle here is that when someone from the government (and it doesn't matter what government) says they have come to help you, tell them no thank you please go away because I can't afford your help because I don't want to have to comply with your tyrannical rules after I receive your help.

Rabshakeh is a harbinger of prophets who will falsely lead the Jewish people into error over the next century. Those who follow their teachings will cause the cycles of discipline to ravage their land.
In 586BC Nebuchadnezzar will attack Judah and the client nation will suffer the fifth cycle of discipline, and some of her citizens will be carried away to endure the seventy-year Babylonian captivity. Jeremiah, a true prophet of the Lord, railed against these false prophets who preached peace and prosperity to those who hated God's Word of truth.
One of his condemnations of them is found in Jer 23:16,17,21; Thus says the Lord of the armies, "Do not listen to the words of the prophets who are prophesying to you. They are leading you into futility; they speak a vision of their own imagination, not from the mouth of the Lord.
v17 "They keep saying to those who despise Me, 'The Lord has said, "You will have peace"'; and as for everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart, they say, "Calamity will not come upon you."
v21 "I did not send these prophets but they ran to you. I did not speak to them, but they prophesied anyway."
The point is that if they dress up pretty, smile, speak politely, and promise peace and prosperity while being sure to adroitly phrase everything perfectly, then the benighted people will eagerly vote to exchange their freedom for slavery.
God's Word tells us that this is exactly how satan and his promoters present themselves. 2Cor 11:13-15; For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
(14 ) And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. (15) Therefore it is not surprising his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will correspond to their actions.
Rabshakeh is an Assyrian heathen who misappropriated the position of a prophet when the claimed that "The Lord said to me, 'Go up against this land, and destroy it.'" in verse 10. He now returns to this subject as he again denounces Hezekiah and blasphemes the Lord God.
Isaiah 36:18-20; 'Do not let Hezekiah mislead you by saying, "Jehovah will deliver us." Has any one of the gods of the nations we have fought delivered his land from the hand of the king of Assyria?
v19 'Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim? Have they rescued Samaria from my hand?
v 20 - 'Who among all the gods of these countries have delivered their land from my hand, that Jehovah should deliver Jerusalem from my hands?'
Satan, the father of lies, always assaults truth. This was confirmed in the Garden of Eden, it is confirmed in our passage and it is consistently being confirmed today. Those who speak the truth in opposition to the devious and nefarious maleficent plans of the evil one will be ridiculed and assaulted for their efforts.
Our nation is under attack and evil forces are determined to destroy it and most of those who are in positions of authority have been very slow to recognize these threats against our nation and even slower to act on them.
This is clearly revealed by what we see when compare the Mueller investigation with the Durham investigation.
Our president is one of the very few who has recognized the threat and he has been relentlessly assaulted with lies, lies and more lies ever since he announced his intent to run for president in 2015.
In Isaiah chapter 36 Hezekiah is telling the truth so not only must Hezekiah's integrity be attacked and repudiated but also his message must also be attacked and repudiated. This is the fourth time in the Rabshakeh's speech that he has challenged the Jew's faith in God's protection.
In verse 7, he warned the people not to place their "trust in the Lord," for Hezekiah insulted the Lord by taking away His high places and altars. In verse 10, he falsely claims that the Lord has personally commanded him to take Judah.
In verse 15, he implores the people to reject Hezekiah's advice to trust in the Lord's power to deliver them and the city of Jerusalem from the Assyrians. Then again in verse 18 he cautions the Jews to ignore Hezekiah's claim that the Lord will deliver them.
The constant objective of Rabshakeh's propaganda is to destroy the people's faith in Hezekiah and the God of Israel and to inspire their faith in the word of Sennacherib.
To do this Rabshakeh dips into Assyrian military history to give examples of how the gods of nations invaded by Assyria have failed to deliver the peoples who looked to them for protection.
These examples include the gods of Hamath, Arpad, and Sepharvaim. These are cities located to the north in Syria. The assertion is that if these "gods" were not able to deliver the citizens of these cities how then do the people of Jerusalem expect the God of Israel to deliver them?
The Rabshakeh viewed the "gods" of the nations Assyria invaded as mere inventions that assuaged the fears and soothed the emotions of the various populations but were nothing more than illusions to be destroyed by Assyrian military power.
This is the same viewpoint that has emerged in our increasingly secular leftist culture that believes that all religions are based on mythology and that the "gods" worshipped by the followers of these religions are no more real then the "gods" worshiped by the people of ancient world.
The self-anointed elitist leftists conclude that all religions are simply inventions designed to support and sustain the peculiar values, morals, and traditions of various cultures.
Since diversity and multiculturalism demand tolerance of all cultures then all religions must be tolerated as well.
However, the power of any religion is neutralized when the notion is accepted that all religions are equal. This lends credence to the claim that religion is a characteristic of all cultures and all worship the same "god."
Further, since all cultures are equal then all religions are equal. But should one religion assert that it is superior to all others, as is the claim of most, then it must be silenced or discredited. In the interest of diversity all religious discourse is judged unfit for public dialogue.
Therefore religions are not only forbidden to be the government, a biblical principle, but religion is also forbidden to even influence the government, which is the sine qua non of client nation survival.
Religion is "tolerated" as long as it is personal, exercised privately, and its teachings are never introduced into the marketplace of ideas.
By so doing the utopian ideal of world peace, free of religious friction and conflict, is supposedly attainable.
This explains why so much effort, time, and money are spent on benign and insignificant issues as the Ten Commandments in courthouses, singing of Christmas carols in schools, pledging of allegiance to the flag, wearing religious symbols on one's person at work, or praying of invocations at graduations or sporting events.
To the traditionalist this opposition seems to be nit picking but for the leftists it is a central issue. They have identified religion and especially Christianity as the source of authoritarian principles and authoritarianism must be abolished.
The Bible is divine revelation of principles, guidelines, and mandates designed to bring order out of chaos by establishing a framework for the protection and survival of the human race in the devil's world.
This framework institutes authority structures that have the delegated power to keep the sin nature in check. The anti-authoritarians resent any system of authority other than their own and especially from a source they believe is based on mythology.
Those who choose to worship their "god" are allowed to do so if they don't make waves or subscribe to some written standard that they claim is divine revelation.
Those who do are characterized as radical fundamentalist extremists whose literal interpretation of the Bible results in the development of an authoritarian personality that is the basis of totalitarianism. This exposes the true motivation of the leftists.
Political correctness, multiculturalism, diversity, and globalism are all methods that satan uses to tear down all systems of divine establishment authority so he can establish his own leftist globalist socialist statist society.
Satan was the first anti-authoritarian. But he and all anti-authoritarians who followed are not opposed to all authority, they are only opposed to those systems they do not control.
In fact, leftists promote the removal of all systems of restraint except those that would restrain them. And the authoritarian systems that restrain satan in the Church Age are Bible doctrine, advancing believers, and client nations. That is why they are his primary targets in the Invisible War.
