2Cor 4:1-18; Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart,
2 but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
5 For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus' sake.
6 For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves;
8 we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing;
9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;
10 always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.
11 For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
12 So death works in us, but life in you.
13 But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I believed, therefore I spoke," we also believe, therefore we also speak,
14 knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and will present us with you.
15 For all things are for your sakes, so that the grace which is spreading to more and more people may cause the giving of thanks to abound to the glory of God.
16 Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.
17 For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,
18 while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
In our study on Smyrna, the base of the pivot power for the first gentile client nation SPQR. We are in Rev 2:10; that starts with the mandate "not to fear what you are about to suffer"
When we stopped last time we had noted that the filling of the Holy Spirit is the power for perception of God's Word of truth that provide the doctrinal working objects that are required to comply with God's mandates.
Basic impersonal love aka integrity creates the objectivity that is necessary for God's Word of truth to function.
Enforced and genuine humility establishes the ability to learn, believe, and use God's Word of truth
That means momentum from God's Word of truth is being developed that satan has to oppose with his cosmic system. God uses this opposition as the source of suffering for blessing under the principle of turning the curse into a blessing. Gen 50:20; Zech 4:6; 2Cor 12:9; 1Pet 3:14-18;
This suffering becomes is the source of momentum in the spiritual life that is inevitably going to occur because in the devil's world there is always going to be opposition to any believer who is deploying working objects from God's Word of truth.
God takes advantage of this opposition and uses it make believers more powerful so that He can convey greater blessing to them because under God's grace policy undeserved suffering is the venue for the believer to demonstrate the capacity they have developed from their spiritual advance through their testimony for God's integrity in the courtroom of satan's appeal. 2Cor 12:7-10; Job 13:15-16; NET
Satan doesn't attack directly he attacks through his system. Satan has delegated the cosmic system that is comprised of the interlocking systems of arrogance in cosmic 1 and the interlocking systems of hatred in cosmic 2 to oppose all believers who execute God's spiritual power system after they are saved.
Satan is in tremendous indirect opposition to any believer who is advancing in God's power system. But that isn't the major issue here, the major issue here is that he has also delegated responsibility for opposition to his minions and that results in the advancing believer being surrounded and attacked from every side.
Satan rarely has to tamper with his system because it works so well. The only opposition to Satan's genius and his system of administration for ruling this world is the believer who is learning and applying God's Word of truth inside God's spiritual power system to the circumstances of their life.
Rev 2:10; The active voice: Satan, the greatest executive that God has created, has delegated the responsibility for attacking advancing believers through his cosmic systems of arrogance and hatred, plus his inside help from the 5th column function of the old sin nature.
And "mello" translated " is about" always has some kind of a verb with it, generally an infinitive.
