2Tim 3:12-13; Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.13 because evil men and demagogues will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
Jer 50:6-7; "My people have become lost sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray. They have wandered around in the mountains. They have roamed from one mountain and hill to another. They have forgotten their resting place.
7 All who encountered them devoured them. Their enemies who did this said, 'We are not liable for punishment! For those people have sinned against the Lord, their true pasture. They have sinned against the Lord in whom their ancestors trusted.'
Prov 28:1 The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, But the righteous are bold as a lion.
Jesus came to save what was lost and destroy the works of the devil. Matt 18:11; 1John 3:8c; who deceives the entire world Rev 12:9;
Heb 2:14-15; Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.
Psa 34:19; Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.
Psa 91:1-7; He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!"
3 For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper And from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.
5 You will not be afraid of the terror by night, Or of the arrow that flies by day;
6 Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, Or of the destruction that lays waste at noon.
7 A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, But it shall not approach you.
2Cor 4:17-18; Because our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, 18 while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
In our study on the judgment seat of Christ based on Rev 2:11; we took up a study of the doctrine of death where we were noting some summary points regarding what physical death means to the believer in Jesus. We left off with death means waiting for the resurrection in the interim body, as per 1Thes 4:13,18; its anticipation is mentioned in John 11:25.
For the mature believer death is the only profit that can never be taxed, stolen, or removed in any way. It is a permanent profit. The wealthy people in heaven will be mature believers who have received their escrow blessings for the eternal state at their evaluation
That is profit and gain that can never take from you. When God gives it at the Judgment Seat of Christ, you will have the capacity for it in your resurrection body.
Phil 1:20-21, "According to my intense concentration and confidence that in nothing shall I be ashamed, but in all confidence as at all times (inside God's spiritual power system) even now Christ will be glorified in my person even through living and dying. 21 For me living is Christ; and to die (physical death) is gain (or profit)."
Another category of death that God's Word describes has nothing to do with physical death, it is spiritual death. It is something every naturally born human being has at birth; it is a type of death that accompanies physical life on the earth in the devil's world separated from God.
This death explains how we came to be here and it is the predicate for every other category of death. At the moment we become physically alive we also have spiritual death.
Spiritual death is separation from God in a state of total helplessness with regard to any relationship with God. Spiritual death results in being humanity separated from God from birth.
The angels who fell from their following satan in his rebellion against God created a similar situation. Spiritual death can be classified as judgment from God.
There are two categories of spiritual death. Real spiritual death that is separation from God in a state of sin applies to mankind
Substitutionary spiritual death, that is separation from God in a state of perfection and impeccability applies to Jesus Christ.
Real spiritual death applies to Adam's original sin and to the status quo of the human race at the point of physical birth. Substitutionary spiritual death applies to the saving work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
At the time when man sinned in the garden of Eden, mankind entered into real spiritual death. Rom 5:12; "For by one man sin entered the world and death by sin, so death passed upon all men for all have sinned."
Spiritual death was the penalty of sin that our original parents in the Garden of Eden were warned about.
Gen 2:17; reveals that they were told that "dying they would die." That means that if they ate the fruit they would immediately die a spiritual death that would eventually result in physical death. In Adam's case physical death was 930 years later. Gen 5:5;
When they partook of the forbidden fruit, they died spiritually. That penalty was imposed at the fall of mankind and it is passed on to their progeny at physical birth.
There are at least seven results of Adam's original sin in the garden. At the point of the original sin, Adam lost his authority to rule of planet earth to Satan.
When Adam died spiritually, he entered into a state of total separation from God. He was separated from God in a state of total helplessness; there was nothing he could do to regain his relationship with God.
God did all the work: He came to Adam in the garden, He did the judging and then provided the solution for our spiritual death. Adam's spiritual death was demonstrated by the fact that when Jesus Christ came in the garden, Adam hid himself from God.
In spiritual death, Adam became dichotomous, having only a body and soul. Real spiritual death means loss of the human spirit, by which we have fellowship with God. 1Cor 2:14; and Jude 19; describe unbelieving dichotomous humans as being "psuchickos" that means they are spiritually dead with the result that they are soulish or worldly minded.
Adam's original sin invented the old sin nature, which is genetically perpetuated to the entire human race. From the old sin nature comes our total depravity, which includes both moral and immoral degeneration.
The beginning of personal sins in the human race, perpetuated from generation to generation by the billions. Spiritual death was perpetuated in the human race, Rom 5:12-21;
At the moment of birth along with physical life we have spiritual death that comes from the imputation of Adam's original sin to our genetically formed old sin nature. We are simultaneously born physically alive and spiritually dead.
The old sin nature that is formed genetically in the physical body tempts us to sin and after we do sin the sin nature controls the decision making processes of our soul.
This is why the spiritually dead unbeliever is dichotomous (1 Cor 2:14; Jude 19) and why the believer with a regerenated human spirit is trichotomous (1Thes 5:23; Job 32:8; 2Cor 7:13; Heb 4:12).
The status of total helplessness to enter into a relationship with God on the basis of any human good, any human merit, or anything we can do, all of which is classified as dead works.
The solution to spiritual death as stated in Rom 6:23: is to believe in Jesus Christ. That is why we are described as being born again. John 3:3;
