2Chron 7:13; "If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people"
Believers who involved in the cosmic system have no wall of fire and are often disciplined by God during historical disaster.
God uses historical disaster to discipline and often to remove carnal cosmic believers from the earth. Too many carnal cosmic believers form an anti-pivot so when there are too many carnal cosmic believers in the client nation the nation becomes self-destructive.
A nation will actually destroy itself were it not for the fact that every year God eliminates from the client nation a number of carnal cosmic believers.
Cosmic involvement produces social degeneration, economic disaster, and military defeat. This is what we see occurring in client nation USA at this time because we have too many carnal cosmic believers in our nation.
Lev 26:14-20; 'But if you do not obey Me and do not carry out all these commandments,
15 if, instead, you reject My statutes, and if your soul abhors My ordinances so as not to carry out all My commandments, and so break My covenant,
16 I, in turn, will do this to you: I will appoint over you a sudden terror, consumption and fever that will waste away the eyes and cause the soul to pine away; also, you will sow your seed uselessly, for your enemies will eat it up.
17'I will set My face against you so that you will be struck down before your enemies; and those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee when no one is pursuing you.
18 'If also after these things you do not obey Me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.
19'I will also break down your pride of power; I will also make your sky like iron and your earth like bronze.
20'Your strength will be spent uselessly, for your land will not yield its produce and the trees of the land will not yield their fruit.
The only way to restore the wall of fire is a national change of thinking and al to return to Divine Establishment.
2Chron 7:13-14; "If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
In our study on the judgment seat of Christ based on Rev 2:11; we took up a study of the doctrine of death and last time we started looking at the final category of death known as the second death.
We noted that "second death," is the death that is referenced in our passage Rev 2:11; This death is only for unbelievers because they have rejected God's love John 3:16; and refused to believe in Jesus Christ who is the only savior. John 14:6; Acts 4:12;
It is eternal separation from God in a place called the lake of fire. The lake of fire was created in eternity for the devil and the fallen angels. Matt 25:41;
All "good" that is performed on the earth without the filling ministry of God the Holy Spirit in compliance with God's Word of truth are the devil's works that Jesus will destroy with "fire."
The "lake of fire is the ultimate destiny of all unbelievers because all of their "good deeds" are the works of the devil that Jesus came to judge and destroy. John 16:11; 1John 3:8;
There also is a place called "hell" that is actually the torments compartment of Hades, and there is a difference between Hades and the lake of fire. Hades exists in time and the lake of fire exists in eternity. Hades is the place where unbelievers wait until they are transferred into the lake of fire.
I am going to start with a literal grammatical description of the lake of fire and then offer an alternate view of how it may actually work with more modern frame of reference and vocabulary.
The lake of fire is described in Rev 20:14-15; Where we are told that death and Hades along with everyone whose name is not found in the book of life are transferred and it is called is the second death.
They are transferred there because the heavens and the present heaven and earth have vanished because they have been destroyed Rev 20:11; 2Pet 3:10;
There is not place for them because they and their human good works are identified with the devil and his unrighteousness and with the destruction of the present heavens and earth the works of the devil that include their good works have been destroyed.
Human good is what people produce when they are living inside satan's cosmic system consequently God does not accept human good because all human good is the devil's works. All human good is destroyed by fire.
The human good of the unbeliever is burned up with the universe and the human good of the believer is burned up at the judgment seat of Christ. 1Cor 3:15; and everything that is left is thrown into the lake of fire. Rev 20:14-15;
There is no place for the devil's works in the new heaven and earth so there is no place for unbelievers in the new heaven and earth . 2Pet 3:13; Rev 21:1;
Rev 19:20; and Rev 21:8; describe it as being a burning liquid sulfur fire. Brimstone is a yellow rock made of sulfur that turns black as it melts at about 240 F, boils at about 752 F, and ignites above 832F. Sulfur burns with a cobalt blue color that is almost invisible in daylight and makes a very caustic poisonous smoke that has a nasty smell of rotten eggs.
The Greek word translated "fire" is "pur" that means to purify. Brimstone is translated from the Greek word "theion" that means sulfur so the fire is burning sulfur Net note 19
The root word for the Greek word "theion" that is translated "sulfur" is "theios" that is translated "God." This means that these individuals are going to be isolated in a lake that is filled with God's perfection for the purpose of being purified.
Sulfur is a very powerful antiseptic. Antiseptic means to oppose sepsis. Sepsis is a toxic deadly spread of bacterial infection in biological organisms but those cast into the lake of fire are not biological they have some kind of body that will function in the environment of the lake of fire and they hate God and His Word of truth.
This tells us that the second death that is like a lake of purification a lake that is described as being comprised of liquid sulfur fire. It is where the devil and all of his angelic, nephilim, and human followers are confined in an environment of maximum purification to prevent the toxic deadly spread, putrification and sepsis of satan's lie that infects all of the present universe.
The infection comes from satan's propaganda, lies and deceit that are rooted in his arrogant rejection of and chronic negative volition and hatred for God, Jesus Christ, and God's Word of Truth.
The lake of fire that is the second death is located in the eternal will become the abode of those who with their own free will have chosen satan's lie rather than God's truth. They must be confined and purified in order to prevent them from ever being able to propagate their spiritual infection to anyone ever again.
Jesus describes this purification as an eternal reality in Matt 25:41; Mark 9:48; where their worm never dies and the fire is not quenched.
The eternal lake of purification that is the second death is the final destination and the abode of both fallen angels and all unbelievers in human history.
All unbelievers of history will occupy the lake of fire because they have rejected Christ as savior, John 3:18. This is the final judgment of satan and the fallen angels along with all unbelievers. Heb 9:27;
Rev 20:10; And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Being cast into the "lake of fire" is the final nail in satan's coffin. 1Cor 15: 24-28;
Rev 14:9-11; Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand,
10 he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
11 "And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name."
The Greek word translated "torment" is "basanidzo" was originally use to describe the inspection and testing of gold and silver coins with a proving stone for the purpose of testing and proving them.
The proving stone was a hard black stone or flint that was used to test the purity of gold or silver coins by the color of the streak that was produced when "tormented" (tested, rubbed) by the stone.
In the context of people is has to do with vexing or harassing them with mental anguish. This pressure is what causes "weeping and gnashing of teeth" since they refuse to ever yield to God.
The torment this passage refers to is the continuous pressure and agitation that is created by being immersed in a lake that is designed to purify the imperfect where the imperfect refuse to adjust to God's perfection.
These passages also tell us that there is no exit from the lake of purification that is the second death that exists for eternity. The Greek words translated "forever and ever" are "aion o aion" that are literally translated "ages of the ages:
This is the same phrase "ages of the ages" is used to describe God's eternal existence. Eph 3:21; Phil 4:20; Heb 1:8; Rev 15:7;
It is also used to describe the eternal reign of believers with Jesus Christ. Rev 22:3-5;
The lake of fire exists in the eternal state so the literal grammar that is used in the Bible to describe it may simply be how the writers of scripture perceived it with their frame of reference and vocabulary at the time.
Brimstone fire was used in ancient pagan rituals as a cleansing agent. In Homer's Odyssey, Odysseus cleanses his house with fire and brimstone so the writers of scripture were familiar with the concept but what John was actually seeing in his vision could have been completely different but the best he could explain it at the time was fire and brimstone.
I find it hard to believe that perfect God would have such a messy thing as a sulfur fire continuously burning in the eternal state so it is possible that it is just how John explained what he saw in his vision it when he wrote it down.
Another possible explanation with a more modern vocabulary that wouldn't be as messy is something like Cherenkov radiation that occurs when charged particles decelerate as they move from one medium to another medium that has a lower transmissivity factor such as from a vacuum into water.
God would be the source of the charged particles and the lake could be water and the cobalt blue light emitted would make it look similar to a lake of molten sulfur on fire even thought it actually is not. (see photo).
This would also correlate with what Jesus looked like in His transfiguration Mark 9:2-3; and what happened to Moses when he went into God's presence. Exod 34:30;
Regardless of how the lake of fire actually works d of it is the final place of incarceration for everyone who rejects God. It is the second death and it is the destiny of every human being who refuses to believe in Jesus Christ because they are what's left of the works of the devil after everything else is burned up. John 3:18,36; John 16:8-11;
