In our verse-by-verse study of Romans we are between chapters 7 and 8 where we have take up a topical study of the Mosaic Law because it is relevant to the topics being discussed in our verse-by-verse study.

Last time we noted that the Jews of the Old Testament lived by God's ritual plan in Mosaic Law, but Church Age believers live by God's protocol plan.

The dispensation of the Hypostatic Union stands as a permanent line of demarcation between Israel and the Church because during the dispensation of the Hypostatic Union, Jesus Christ in His unglorified humanity fulfilled the Mosaic Law and simultaneously pioneered God's protocol plan as God's precedence for the Church.

God's perfect character remains immutable through all dispensations in history. God expressed His perfect virtue to mankind long before the Mosaic Law existed, and He continues to provide ethical norms, morality, virtue and spiritual instruction after the Mosaic Law ceases to rule.

Before, during, and after the time the Mosaic Law was in effect in Israel, God's law continued to function among the Gentiles, to whom the Mosaic Law never applied, Gen 26:5; Ex 19:5; Rom 2:14-16; 1 Cor 7:19, 9:20.

In the Church Age, God's operational law is Law of Christ not the Mosaic Law. 1Cor 9:20-21; Gal 6:2; because in the in the dispensation of the Hypostatic Union the unglorified humanity of Christ in Hypostatic Union fulfilled the Mosaic Law in the power of the Spirit.

The Church Age believer fulfills the Law of Christ by following Jesus' precedent, that means the execution of God's protocol plan under the filling ministry of God the Holy Spirit combined with the perception, metabolization, and application of God's Word of Truth.

Because the first advent of Christ included both the fulfillment and the termination of the Mosaic Law (Matt 5:17-19; Rom 10:4; Gal 3:22-25; Gal 5:3-4; many of the practices mandated for the nation Israel are not included in God's plan for the church.

While the Mosaic Law as a total code became obsolete, not only was the spiritual code fulfilled and replaced but the temporal portions of the Law were terminated.

The temporal aspects of the Law, included in codex one and three, define freedom within the national entity. Codex three instituted the laws of divine establishment specifically for the nation of Israel.

During the dispensation of the Hypostatic Union, Jesus Christ established new policies for both the Church and the Millennium. In doing so many individual commands found in the Mosaic Law were restated. But if a command was not restated for the Church or the Millennium, then it no longer applies.

This continuity existed because the source of all divine law has always been the same immutable essence of God, Heb 13:8. Although continuity with the Law exists in both the Church Age and the Millennium, the new policy for both dispensations is not the Mosaic Law itself.

The Church Age derives its doctrine from the New Testament epistles under the classification of the mystery doctrine, Rom 16:25; Eph 3:2-6; Col 1:25-27.The Mosaic Law was revealed to Old Testament writers; therefore, it cannot be part of the mystery doctrine for the church.

In the New Testament Gospels Jesus prophesied of God's policies for the Church Age, the Second Advent, and the millennial reign of Jesus Christ. The Upper Room Discourse anticipates prophetically God's policies for the Church Age, John 12-17.

The Olivet Discourse, Matt 24-25, describes God's policies for how Jews will survive the last half of the Tribulation in order to remain until the Second Advent.

The Sermon on the Mount is for the millennial reign of Christ. The Sermon on the Mount can only be enforced when Jesus Christ personally rules on the earth.

The New Testament epistles provide the mandates for God's protocol plan for the church. If Old Testament precepts apply, they do so, not because they belong to the Mosaic Law, but because they are repeated to the church as a part of the function of the Law of Christ as part of God's royal family honor code.

Some of the precepts of codex three are given to the Church in its relationship to the laws of divine establishment in Rom 13:1-10. Some of the principles of divine establishment found in codex one and three are restated as the law of Christ or law of God.

The excluded principles are still God's truth, but they do not carry the force of law for any nation except the five Jewish client nations of the past. It is possible that in the future that much of the Mosaic Law will again apply to client nation Israel during the Millennium.

Wise political leaders in the Church Age, who desire freedom and prosperity for their nation, will extrapolate and use principles found in the Mosaic Law, and integrate them into their culture and heritage like the founders of the USA did in our national constitution.

During the Church Age the principle of separation of church and state leaves many establishment issues to the judgment of civil government. For example, capital punishment is restated for the Church Age in Rom 13:4, but not some of the specific punishments described in the Mosaic Law for adultery, homosexuality, and juvenile delinquency.

However, the Mosaic Law continues to fulfill certain functions because it defines both establishment freedom and spiritual freedom in any client nation to God.

It defines the function of the laws of divine establishment in terms of both morality and virtue. It verifies certain principles, such as freedom through military victory and it defines common law in terms of both trial and punishment.

It experientially reveals that man is a sinner under real spiritual death and points the way of salvation and everlasting life through personal faith in Christ and It illustrates the saving work of Jesus Christ on the cross through ritual illustrations.

The Mosaic Law was written for our instruction, in order that we might learn establishment principles, Rom 15:4.

The Mosaic Law was written for our example. 1Cor 10:11-12, "Now these things happened to them as an example, furthermore, they were written for our instruction, upon whom the accomplishments of the ages (the execution of God's plan under the power of the Holy Spirit) have come.

12 So let him who thinks he stands be careful so that he does not fall.

The Mosaic Law was written to convince the unbeliever that by God's standards he is a sinner and as a result needs a Savior because human works can never justify him before God. Rom 3:20, 28; Gal 2:16,

The Mosaic Law and its principles form the pattern and policy for good government. It demonstrates the proper place of authority and its proper use. It teaches the importance of fair taxation, universal military training, proper juris prudence, and the importance of freedom, privacy, property, and life.

The present purpose of Codex one is to define human freedom, Codex two's purpose is to teach that we are not under the Law but under grace, and Codex three provides God's perfect standards for a functional client nation.

Jesus Christ who fulfilled the Mosaic Law is the predicate and template for grace application. John 1:17, "The Law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ."

The Law and grace through Jesus Christ are considered together because the Law can also be a means of evangelism in Codex two.

The Principles of Freedom tell us that freedom without authority is anarchy and authority without freedom is tyranny.

Christian activism results in either anarchy or tyranny because when Christian activism attacks establishment freedom it produces anarchy and when it attacks Christian freedom it produces tyranny.

The Spanish Inquisition is an example of this. No believer can enter Christian activism and at the same time live the spiritual life of the Church Age.

The Christian activist is a spiritual sleepwalker because Christian activism assumes that reality is the activity of an emotionally dominated soul for a perceived just cause where some kind of human works are substituted for the God's mandate to keep on being filled with the Spirit.

This means that the Christian activist always grieves, quenches, and lies to the Holy Spirit. The word wrongdoing is the perfect description of Christian activism.

As a system of wrongdoing, Christian activism becomes a system of evil whereby the dark side of morality assumes that the end justifies the means.

God's will that is expressed in God's word of truth must always operate under principles related to our mentor, God the Holy Spirit. That means that believer cannot be involved in Christian activism and at the same time be filled with the Spirit.

The unique spiritual life of the Church Age is always a right thing done for the right reason in a right way at the right time that results in a winner believer who is an invisible hero.

Wrongdoing is a wrong thing done in a wrong way that is wrong or a wrong thing done is a right way that is wrong or a right thing done in a wrong way that is wrong.

Wrongdoing includes dead works and evil, ignorance of or rejection of doctrine including rejection of 1John 1:9, (rebound and keep moving). When we reject 1John 1:9, we are functioning in wrongdoing that if persisted in results in warning, intensive and dying discipline from God.

God's protocol plan for the church takes its precedence from the Law of Christ in dispensation of the Hypostatic Union rather than from the Mosaic Law in the dispensation of Israel.

This means that precedence for God's protocol plan is not taken from any of the commandments of the Mosaic Law, whether tithing, Sabbath or Holy Day observance, or the keeping the ten commandments.

Faith in Jesus Christ is not only everlasting life but it is also the end of self-righteousness and works righteousness that are misapplications of the Mosaic Law.

Neither self-righteousness nor works righteousness can ever improve on God's imputed righteousness that was given to us at the moment we believed in Jesus Christ.

God's imputed righteousness is not only the basis of justification but it also provides for logistical grace support and blessing from God and it is also the predicate for God's personal love for every believer after salvation.

God's protocol plan that is revealed in the mystery doctrine for the church was never revealed to Old Testament writers. Not one word regarding God's policies for and the uniqueness of the Church Age is found in the Old Testament because it was hidden, Rom 16:25-26; Eph 3:1-6; Col 1:25-26.

Our Lord Jesus Christ completely fulfilled the Mosaic Law and it has been rescinded. That means that God's protocol plan for believers in the Church Age can never take its precedence from something that has been completely rescinded.

Israel is not the precedence for the Church so the Mosaic Law has nothing to do with the Christian way of life. In fact within God's plan the function of Israel and the Church are mutually exclusive.

That means that the Mosaic Law has nothing to do with the Church. The reason believers think they need the Law is because they are not taught how to be filled with the Spirit.

After the Church started on Pentecost 32AD any Jew who believed in Jesus Christ spiritually became part of the church that superceded their function as Israel.

God provided establishment principles for the Gentiles in the previous dispensations long before He provided the Mosaic Law in the dispensation of Israel so God also provides establishment principles for the Church Age after He rescinded the Mosaic Law.

God's protocol plan for the Church Age supercedes God's ritual plan for Israel. Precedence for God's protocol plan is derived exclusively from Jesus Christ in the dispensation of the Hypostatic Union.

Many denominations do not understand this so they include the Mosaic Law as a major part of the Christian way of life but by doing that they are only building the wood, hay and straw from the dead works of human good.

Both Romans and Galatians repudiate the Law as being part of the Christian way of life.

Legalism, such as tithing, Sabbath observance, the substitution of morality for spirituality, originate from the erroneous premise that the Mosaic Law is a part of or the predicate for the Christian way of life.

Neither salvation nor spirituality is related to keeping the Mosaic Law.

The substitutionary spiritual death of Jesus Christ on the cross completely fulfilled codex two of the Mosaic Law. The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is the basis for a God's royal family that is comprised of the new spiritual species that utilizes God's protocol plan.

God's protocol plan and the ritual plan of the Mosaic Law are mutually exclusive.

All precedence for God's protocol plan is based on God's omnipotent power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead. This completely excludes the Mosaic Law. The Law cannot provide spirituality, and neither can it provide resurrection.

The Mosaic Law provides neither precedence nor authorization for God's protocol plan for the Church Age. All doctrine related to the function of the Church is classified as mystery doctrine that was hidden from the Old Testament writers, Rom 16:25-26; Eph 3:2-6; Col 1:25-27.
