In our study of Romans we are between chapters 7 and 8 on a topical study of the sin nature. Last time we discussed how God uses faith in Jesus Christ to resolve the issue of the sin nature for the unbeliever.
This brings us to the solution to post-salvation personal sins from sin nature control of the soul in the believer. God's solution for the believer is the acknowledgement of any known sin to God that we describe as rebound because of what God does after we acknowledge the sin to Him.
1John 1:9; "If we acknowledge (admit, cite, or name) our sins, He (God the Father) is faithful, just, and righteous with the result that He forgives us our sins (post-salvation sins of cognizance), and cleanses (purifies) us from all wrongdoing (post-salvation sins of ignorance)."
The substitution of self-judgment for divine discipline is the subject of 1Cor 11:31; "If we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged." This tells us that self-judgment is equivalent to the confession of any known sins to God the Father.
So forgiveness and restoration to fellowship results in the recovery of the filling of the Holy Spirit that reenters or rebounds the believer back into God's spiritual power system is based on the fact that God has already judged all of the personal sins that are being cited, acknowledged or self judged on Jesus Christ at the cross.
This recognition of the actual true reality and self-judgment for it resolves the sin trend of the old sin nature. Rebound means to stand up, look God in the face cite your sins, and know with absolute confidence that He has judged it and therefore He forgives you. Heb 4:16;
This is the only way for the believer to be extracted from satan's cosmic system and restored into God's spiritual power system through the recovery of the filling ministry of the God Holy Spirit, who now again controls the believer's soul.
There are two different mandates for spirituality; Gal 5:16; "walk by means of the Spirit" and Eph 5:18; " stop sinning and keep on being filled with the Spirit."
Eph 5:18; refers to the Holy Spirit controlling your soul by defeating the old sin nature and its fragmentation and Gal 5:16; refers to life and function inside God's spiritual power system in a biological body in the devil's world.
Through the use of judgment and condemnation God solves the two categories of problems created by the old sin nature. He judged all personal sins at the cross and He judges all human good works that include human good and evil for the believer at their evaluation by Jesus Christ and for the unbeliever at the Last Judgment.
The first phase of this process was God's judgment of all personal sins at the cross when all of the personal sins of the world were called up and dumped on Jesus Christ and judged by God the Father.
This was the first and most important judgment of the production of old sin nature throughout human history and is the basis of our salvation that we obtain through personal faith in Jesus Christ.
This was the predicate for the abrogation of the power and ruler ship of the old sin nature over the human race, 1Pet 2:24; 2Cor 5:19;
However, under the law of volitional responsibility, our sins, though judged at the cross, still have consequences because we are responsible for the function of our negative volition and the choice to commit them and that is how we cause most of our own suffering during our life in our biological body in time.
This requires the second phase where we must judge ourselves by acknowledging any known sin to God. 1John 1:9; 1Cor 11:31;
The third phase is when the human good and evil of every believer is judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ immediately after the exit resurrection of the Church.
1Cor 3:12-16. "Wood, hay and stubble" refers to the entirety of the human good the believer has done during their life in a biological body in time that Jesus Christ will destroy because it is a work of the devil.
At the Great White Throne Judgment, Rev 20:12-15, the unbeliever is resurrected and brought before the Lord Jesus Christ whom he rejected.
His sins that have also already been judged in Jesus Christ at the cross are not mentioned. Instead all of his human good from the book of works is collected together.
Since all human good is a work of the devil it can only add up to negative righteousness, that cannot have fellowship with God's perfect righteousness so the unbeliever and all of his good works are cast alive into the Lake of Fire along with the devil forever.
Remember one of Jesus' missions was to destroy all of the works of the devil. 1John 3:8;
Periodically during the course of human history God also judges evil by permitting wars to occur otherwise humanity would self-destruct from their evil production of human good in the devil's world.
The evil production of human good continues in the human race right into and throughout Jesus Christ's rule in the Millennium, as seen in the Gog and Magog Revolution at the end of the Millennium but all of the evil works of the devil must be always eventually be met, defeated, and destroyed. Rev 20:7-10;
There will be no old sin nature in the resurrection body. Phil 3:21; "Who (Jesus Christ) will change the body of our humble state (old sin nature infused body) into conformity with the body of His glory (resurrection body of Jesus Christ) on the basis of the operational power that He has to subordinate all things to Himself."
At the moment of salvation adjustment to God's justice through faith in Jesus Christ, God's justice imputes God's righteousness to the new believer, setting up a grace pipeline for direct blessing from God's justice. All direct blessing from God to humanity comes through this pipeline.
God's perfect Justice is at the source end and God's perfect righteousness is at the receiving end. This pipeline is secured and encapsulated by the perfect integrity of God's holiness.
Righteousness demands righteousness; justice demands justice; whatever God's righteousness demands God' justice executes.
Therefore at salvation, perfect righteousness demands thirty- nine other factors be conveyed through the grace pipeline. From salvation to maturity, perfect righteousness demands logistical blessing to sustain believers in the devil's world in their biological sin nature infused bodies.
At the point of spiritual maturity, perfect righteousness demands special supergrace blessings. For just as God's justice can condemn us, God's justice must also have a policy for blessing us. God's policy is grace.
At the moment of salvation, the baptism of the Spirit also occurs, that cancels the ruling power of the old sin nature over biological human life. This positional abrogation or cancellation is the predicate that establishes the potential for experiential cancellation that we must learn to make consistent positive volitional choices to opt for after we are saved.
This potential comes from the baptism of the Holy Spirit that establishes us in union with Jesus Christ in retroactive and current positional truth.
Retroactive positional truth identifies us with Jesus Christ in His spiritual death, physical death and burial. In spiritual death, Christ also rejected and defeated all human good and evil when He accepted the imputation and judgment of all personal sins committed in human history.
In His physical death, Christ was totally separated from good and evil. That means in retroactive positional truth we are also positionally separated from human good and evil.
In His burial, He was divorced from good and evil; so through positional truth we are also positionally divorced from good and evil. That means that in our identity in union with Christ we have also positionally rejected human good and evil.
This all creates potential. In this case that potential plus capacity from our cognition of the appropriate doctrinal information reveals to us that through our union with Christ from our baptism by the Holy Spirit at salvation God has established an irrevocable encapsulated environment for us to occupy in our sin infused biological body in the devil's world during our life in time.
Doctrine is always the predicate for capacity. The reality of the encapsulated environment that we have is greater than the perfect environment of the Garden of Eden even though it is in the devil's world.
God encapsulates our blessings and conveys them to us in the devil's world in an environment that He provides (the spiritual power system) that is independent from all historical circumstances.
Because satan's policy is good and evil and the function of the old sin nature is also good and evil, the old sin nature and satan cooperate as long as good and evil are being produced. But whenever the old sin nature produces sin, this is an embarrassment to satan because satan is trying to establish the Millennium before Jesus comes back.
This retroactive positional truth establishes the basis for our experiential renunciation and victory over the trends of the old sin nature. Its trends are toward sin, human good, and evil.
Through the baptism of the Holy Spirit, we have retroactive positional truth that is positional separation as well as rejection and divorcement from Adam's old sin nature trend.
This abrogates the sovereignty of the old sin nature over human life. It also provides "life with God" on this earth, Rom 6:11; The old sin nature, however, is still located in the cell structure of the biological flesh, the body of corruption, and is still transmitted through the twenty- three male chromosomes in conception.
That old sin nature still has to be there, because these same cells are part of our biological body and therefore our physical life that means that as long as we are alive in this body of corruption we have an old sin nature and that means that we will never completely stop sinning, 1 John 1:8;
But the trends toward sin, good and evil, while still in our body, are at least positionally broken. So at salvation, we enter God's spiritual power system, but the old sin nature is not changed or eradicated but the metabolization of doctrine gives us more and more power to control the old sin nature.
While the power and rulership of the old sin nature over human life is destroyed positionally after salvation as described in Romans chapter 6. Romans chapter 7 tells us that the trends of Adam still function in the believer's after salvation.
The contradiction between the positional destruction of the old sin nature's power at salvation through the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the frustration of still following the trends of the old sin nature is the subject of Romans 7, especially Rom 7:15; Rom 7 is the story of the battle between the two husbands.
The continued function of the old sin nature after salvation in spite of retroactive positional truth indicates the necessity for Bible doctrine resident in the soul plus the filling of the Holy Spirit to experientially defeat the sin nature. That is why epignosis Bible doctrine plus filling of the Holy Spirit results in experiential sanctification.
The pattern for the believer's carnality or sinfulness depends upon how must time he spends in satan's cosmic system rather than in God's spiritual power system.
But the believer has been given the opportunity for rapid recovery from sin nature control of the soul through instantaneous rebound adjustment to God's justice.
Rebound is the choice to use the option of being alive to God, 1Cor 3:1. But we do not confess good and evil because they are the unresolved issue that is being determined during human history so they have not been judged yet.
Entering God's spiritual power system by becoming filled with the spirit completely neutralizes the functions of the sin nature in sin, human good and evil. We can only execute God's protocol plan for the Church Age when we are filled with the spirit.
This means that rebound is necessary because of personal sins committed after salvation but sin is not the major problem after salvation. The major problem is the function of good and evil and these go unchecked apart from Bible doctrine in the soul, Rom 7:14; 1John 1:8;
After salvation any believer can develop three patterns of sinfulness in their life in time. Frequent sinning is when the believer spends most of his life in satan's cosmic system.
Occasional sinning occurs when the believer is when the believer spends more time God's power system than in satan's cosmic system because he uses rebound and the PMA of Bible doctrine.
Sporadic sinning occurs when the believer has momentum from their advance through the stages of spiritual adulthood in God's power system.
1John 1:8, "If we allege that we have no sin nature, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us." 1 John 1:10, "If we allege that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and truth is not in us."
Inside the God's spiritual power system there is virtue and there can be no sin. All decisions for sin, human good and evil are made only when the believer is in satan's cosmic system.
