We are between chapters 7 and 8 of Romans in a topical study of the heart of the soul. Last time we noted that the heart can be described as having several compartments starting with the frame of reference.
The frame of reference retains previously learned metabolized doctrines and becomes the basis for acquiring for additional information. The frame of reference is the location or area of retention of what Paul called epignosis that is metabolized doctrine.
This means that the frame of reference is the location for all of the concepts related to the mystery doctrine of the Church Age that reveal God's protocol plan that includes God's directive will, plan, and objective for the believer's life after salvation.
The frame of reference is where the ten problem solving devices for the Church Age believer are constructed and made available for deployment.
The frame of reference is the seat of the inventory of metabolized doctrine, from which application of metabolized doctrine as wisdom can be applied to the circumstances of life.
Metabolized doctrine in the frame of reference is the basis for the construction of a spiritual system of thinking from the perspective of God's Word of Truth in the stream of consciousness.
Metabolized doctrine in the frame of reference is the basis for the execution of God's protocol plan so it is the basis for the glorification of God and the manufacture of invisible spiritual heroes in the Church Age.
Metabolized doctrine in the frame of reference increases the believer's spiritual intelligence and creates capacity for learning more advanced doctrinal truth.
The doctrine you have in your frame of reference that you can recall and apply is what determines your spiritual intelligence.
Metabolized Bible doctrine in your frame of reference initially provides divine viewpoint, and then it begins to shape your mental attitude for the conflict between divine and human viewpoint, that is a constant struggle until you have sufficient spiritual momentum from doctrine in your thinking.
Metabolized Bible doctrine in your frame of reference provides the correct motivation for function in God's protocol plan. It creates motivation for learning more doctrine that results in increasing spiritual momentum.
Metabolized doctrine is the momentum that keeps the believer advancing in the spiritual life and eventually leads to consistent execution of God's protocol plan for the Church Age believer.
Prov 4:4; "Then He taught me and said to me, `Let your heart hold fast My words, keep My mandates, and live.'"
Your heart is the source of concentration because motivation and the ability to concentrate starts in the frame of reference in the heart.
1Cor 2:9; "Things which the eye has not seen and the ear has not heard, and has not entered into the heart of man all that God has prepared for those who love Him."
There is no way for a believer to understand all that God has prepared for them apart from a frame of reference that is saturated with the mystery doctrine of the Church Age. You can only understand all that God has done for you from the Bible doctrine that is resident, believed, recalled and circulating in the heart, the right lobe of the soul.
Coming to love God indicates spiritual advance. Personal love for God the Father is the problem-solving device that is the correct motivation for the Christian way of life. Occupation with the person of Christ that is Love for Christ is the priority solution for solving the problems of life in the adversity of the devil's world.
Believers who are filled with the Spirit have a spiritual frame of reference for the perception of the spiritual information that comes from God's Word that is taught by God the Holy Spirit to the human spirit that was regenerated at salvation.
The frame of reference also constructs a filter from metabolized doctrine that acts like an instant reaction force or a red-alert system so that believers can accurately discern what is true and what is false in the communication of the Word of God of Truth.
Metabolized doctrine in the frame of reference is the basis for the manufacture and the function of all ten of the problem solving devices.
Many believers have been delivered from false doctrinal teaching from metabolized doctrine in their frame of reference because God the Holy Spirit helps them perceive and recognize that something is wrong with the false ideas, emotional activity, legalism, or ritual that is being communicated as being truth. So the frame of reference is where God the Holy Spirit provides protection in the spiritual life for the believer.
The frame of reference's alert system is necessary in the Christian life because believers must learn to avoid false teachers and con artists who propagandize doctrines of demons as being truth.
Metabolized Bible doctrine in the frame of reference produces the ability to recall doctrine in every situation and circumstance of life.
Lam 3:20-25; "Surely my soul remembers and is humbled within me. This doctrine I recall to mind; therefore I have hope (as a problem solving device). The Lord's grace support (logistical grace provision) never ceases; His grace expressions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. `The Lord is my portion,' says my soul; `therefore I have confidence in Him.'"
The frame of reference provides the basis for effective communication of ideas in conversation, in professional functions, in witnessing, and in social interaction.
Bible doctrine in the frame of reference establishes capacity for life, happiness, blessing from God, success and prosperity from God, and promotion from God.
Psa 119:16; "I delight in doctrine; I shall not forget Your Word." This tells us that right next to the frame of reference is the memory center.
While the frame of reference is the location for doctrinal categorization, the memory center is the area where doctrinal recall occurs. Recall is necessary for the application of doctrine to experience, for worship, for training the Christian reflexes, and the deployment of the problem solving devices.
The memory center circulates Bible doctrine into the various parts of the right lobe (the heart) producing recall. You associate things in your frame of reference and then remember them by correlating them in the memory center. The memory center stores doctrine after much repetition.
Recall is the beginning point of the application of Bible doctrine to experience so it is the initial part in the development of wisdom (sophia).
Recall is the basis for the function of all ten of the problem solving devices: rebound, the filling of the Spirit, the faith-rest drill, grace orientation, doctrinal orientation, a personal sense of destiny, personal love for God the Father, impersonal love for all mankind, sharing the happiness of God, and occupation with Christ.
Recall is the basis for deployment of problem solving devices. It may take only one verse, such as 1John 1:9, to deploy the problem-solving device of rebound.
Rebound must be kept simple because we sin so often that we need a very simple solution. Rebound as the solution relates our specific personal sin to God the Father's judgment of all personal sins to Jesus Christ on the cross that makes it possible for them to be forgiven.
More complex recall occurs after we learn and understand how we fit into God's protocol plan, what the portfolio of invisible assets is, how the unique spiritual life works, how suffering for blessing works, that leads us to a lifestyle of wisdom.
Recall is the basis for the function of the stages of the faith-rest drill that is the application of the doctrinal rationales to the circumstances of life.
The doctrinal rationales include the essence of God rationale, the plan of God rationale, the spiritual privilege or politeuma rationale, the grace of God rationale, and the logistical grace rationale.
Recall is not dependent on having a good natural human memory. It has everything to do with the inculcation of doctrinal teaching. You must hear a doctrine taught hundreds of times. The more you hear a doctrine taught the quicker you will be able to remember it and use it.
You haven't learned a doctrine until you can't forget it. You cannot use what you cannot remember. You don't have time to look up the doctrine in your notebook when you're being tested. It must already be resident in your thinking. That means you can only apply what you can't forget.
Therefore, recall is the application of epignosis doctrine in the right lobe to the circumstances of life. When epignosis doctrine is applied, it is called wisdom (sophia).
Lam 3:20-24, "Surely my soul remembers and is humbled within me. This doctrine I recall to my mind, therefore I have confidence. The Lord's grace support never ceases; His grace expressions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. `The Lord is my portion,' says my soul (frame of reference and memory center); `therefore I have confidence in Him.'"
What memory brings about humility as the basis of function in the spiritual life? Verse 21 answers: The recall of God's Word of Truth. We see here that Jeremiah had both doctrinal orientation and grace orientation.
Psa 119:6, "I delight in doctrine; I shall not forget Your word." Psalm 119 was the thinking of the young Jewish people on the long march from Jerusalem to Babylon as they were being treated terribly and abused. They had learned the doctrine and recalled it under the worst circumstances.
Psa 119:109, "My life is in constant danger, but I do not forget Your doctrines." The frame of reference plus the memory center equals the recall of doctrine.
2Cor 10:4-6. The context of this passage is the angelic conflict, and the issue is the believer's weaponry. You must have the right weapons. You come to Bible class to arm yourself spiritually.
God provides the weaponry which is all contained in one arsenal: God's spiritual power system. The phrase "ready to punish" in verse six refers to epignosis doctrine in the frame of reference and in the memory center that is ready to be recalled and deployed
This brings us to the next compartment in the soul, the vocabulary storage that is the place where thinking is developed and where technical words are stored that are used to develop new ideas. Information is conveyed with words so a person cannot think beyond their vocabulary.
Vocabulary is developed in the left lobe (the mind) and only transferred to the right lobe (the heart) when accepted. Often our capacity for life is related to our vocabulary. Concepts are first learned in the left lobe where they are meaningless until we accept them as being true then they are transferred to the right lobe for application.
After salvation, the believer must learn an entirely new spiritual vocabulary, including technical words for theology, which is similar to learning a new language for thinking, for application, and for expression.
Just as at physical birth a baby must learn a language and the meaning of words, so after regeneration the believer must learn an entirely new spiritual language that has its own vocabulary to understand spiritual concepts.
Technical language is necessary to understand and apply any subject especially Bible doctrine because God's plan is revealed and explained in technical, theological terms.
Jer 15:16, "Your words were found and I ate (metabolized) them, and Your words became for me joy (happiness)."
Deut 8:3, "And He humbled you (the Exodus generation) and He let you be hungry and He fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your ancestors know that He might cause you to understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that proceeds from the month of God." Quoted by Jesus in Matt 4:4;
Categorical doctrinal storage is the next compartment that when coordinated with the frame of reference classifies Bible doctrine. This is the storage area for technical concepts or categorical information in any area of life. It is related to recall from both the memory center and vocabulary. You remember the principles with their technical words, and you finally put them all together.
By comparing Scripture with Scripture, certain subjects are brought together in the divisions of doctrine for the purpose of classification. In the various parts of Scripture, many ideas are covered from different viewpoints but they are still part of the same subject.
This means that categorical storage fulfills the principle of cognitive independence because categories are fundamental concepts of doctrine that all knowledge of doctrine can be reduced in to.
Categories are the divisions of doctrine formed for the purpose of classification of subjects and subject matter in the Word of God.
Categorical storage is the basis for conceptualism in post- salvation renovation of the thinking from the perception, metabolization, and application of Bible doctrine under the teaching ministry of God the Holy Spirit.
Both vocabulary and categorical storage are essential for the spiritual growth that is required for the execution of God's plan.
Prov 2:2, "Make your ear to concentrate on wisdom; apply your right lobe (heart) to understanding."
