The book of Romans part 405 Rom 9:13;

In our verse by verse study of Romans we are in Rom 9:13; that is a quote from Mal 1:2-3; Our Expanded Translation of Rom 9:13; is "As it stands written that Jacob I loved but that Esau I hated."

Because of the implications of this statement we have taken up a brief study on how God's works the free volition of creatures through His decree. Last time we noted that this explains that God has not only decreed ends as means, but God also has decreed means as ends.

Humans have no free will choice with regard to their parents. Only God knew who your parents would be and He knew it in eternity past. You had nothing to say about it, but once you came into the world as a child eventually your own free volition began to function.

This passage explains that God's omniscience fed into the decree a Gentile by the name of Abram. God's omniscience knew that eventually this man would become a believer called Abraham and that he would also eventually have eight children.

God also knew the principle of primogeniture. But He also knew that it would not Abraham's firstborn named Ishmael but his second born named Isaac that would believe in Jesus Christ and be the second in the line of Israel.

He also knew that Isaac would have twins and that Jacob would be a Jew and that Esau would remain a Gentile. He knew that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob who would be renamed Israel would be the origin of a new human race, God's chosen race.

That explains that to preserve the human race it became necessary in the course of human history to have a special nation to represent God, to become the recipients of God's revelation that would be put in writing as the Old Testament and to be the genetic source of the Seed of the Woman.

It became necessary for one nation to become the missionary nation that would set the precedence for all national function on the basis of freedom and establishment. It also became necessary for this freedom to become the basis for evangelism of unbelievers, and from that evangelism to teach new believers the doctrine that was required for the advance to spiritual maturity.

During first two thousand years during the Age of the Gentiles there had not been such a nation so internationalism inevitably occurred. Internationalism is the system that satan who rules the world uses to acquire and maintain overt control over the entire human race.

That is what is wrong with the United Nations or any other system of internationalism, religious or political. Therefore God started a new dispensation, the dispensation of Israel and God's chosen people were elected to lead it.

Starting with the Exodus from Egypt there would be a national entity that would represent God in evangelism, in missionary activity, and in spiritual growth. That continued throughout the dispensation of Israel until the Jewish Age came to a halt after they rejected Jesus Christ as their Messiah and He ascended and was seated at God's right hand.

Then He sent the Holy Spirit and the Church Age began as the formation of God's spiritual royal family. Then in 70AD forty years after the Church Age began God took Israel out under the fifth cycle of discipline for the last time. In August of 70 AD when Jerusalem fell and the Temple was destroyed the times of the Gentiles began.

The times of the Gentiles is a phrase that Paul used in the New Testament (Rom 11:25;) to describe the fact that no Jewish nation from that time until the second advent of Jesus Christ would not and could not be a client nation to God and that the biological Jewish race would be scattered throughout the earth for their protection.

Even if many biological Jews would come together to form a nation in the land that God had promised to Abraham that during the Church Age they could not and would not be a client nation to God. Their concentration in the land only gives satan and his evil minions an opportunity to try to kill them all. That is what we see happening today.

During the times of the Gentiles Gentile nations would become client nations to God. And above all, during the times of the Gentiles the Gentile client nation to God must be a haven for the biological Jewish race.

The biological Jewish race must be protected not only from the usual tyrannies of history but from the abnormal hatred that satan and his minions have for the Jews since God made His promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Satan's primary objective has been and always will be to destroy the Jewish race because they are the source of the seed of the woman. (Gen 3:15; Rev 20:3; Rev 20:10;)

Therefore, it becomes absolutely necessary that every Gentile client nation provide a safe haven for the biological Jews, to give them the same rights as all of its citizens, and to make sure that anti-Semitism never rears its ugly head.

Anti-Semitism is like a grenade with the pin pulled, it is the quickest way to destroy a nation and pro-Semitism is the quickest way for a nation to be a target for God's blessing.

We see a very dangerous massive shift toward the evil of anti-Semitism in client nation USA at this time. If that takes root it will be the end of the USA.

We see here that God's purposes relating the events of human history constitute one single all-comprehensive intention that comprehends all events, the free as free, the necessary as necessary, together with all of their causes, conditions, successions, and relations, as one indivisible system every link of which is essential to the whole.

The decree does not influence the human freedom of Esau and Jacob it only guarantees certainty. God's decree never influences human freedom or coerces human volition and God's foreknowledge does not coerce human self-determination.

The decree only affects the certainty of the action. The decree guarantees certainty positive or negative. Deut 30:19-20;

The decree encompasses everything but it only establishes the certainty of all the facts of history in their sequence, in their relationship and interrelationship, in their cause and effect, the free functioning as the free and the necessary functioning as the necessary.

It is important to distinguish between what God causes and what He permits. God does not decree for man to sin but He does decree that man has a free choice to sin. God permits sin but He does not sponsor sin.

God's omniscience fed the facts of sin into the decree and as a part of the decree it is a fact, but God does not approve of the sins or the evil functions of human good so God does not sponsor them.

In other words, God decreed that human free volition could choose to do acts of sin and acts of human good and that sin and evil would result from those free thought, free decisions, and free actions.

God's omniscience anticipated that sin and evil would be the consequence of freedom and as a result become a reality and God not only anticipated that reality but in addition (knowing all of them He took them all ahead of time) and saved them all up.

This explains how important God's omniscience is. If it were not for God's omniscience we wouldn't be saved. In eternity past God's omniscience knew exactly what sins our free will would produce and He took all those sins, stored them up and imputed them to Jesus Christ on the cross and judged them.

In other words, God's omniscience had to know ahead of time every sin that mankind would ever commit so that they could be judged, so that when the gospel is presented a person can believe in Jesus Christ and have eternal life because God's omniscience had already fed all of your sins into the decree where they were all collected to be imputed to Jesus Christ.

That means that without God's omniscience working through the decree salvation by grace and faith would be impossible.

Both Jacob and Esau committed sins and all of their sins were judged on the cross. So the message to Esau and Jacob was, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved." Esau kept saying no, but at least for one moment at one time Jacob said yes, he believed on the Lord following the pattern of Abraham and in that moment he received God's judicial righteousness and eternal life on the basis of grace and faith. Gen 15:6; Rom 6:23;

The line and the origin of Israel is not biological it is spiritual. Esau said no to spiritual regeneration, Jacob said yes. God's decree simply recognizes the free will choice that is made so everyone's destiny is the product of their own freewill decisions.

One used his free will and said yes; one used his free will and said no. All of these factors are combined in the decree so that what man thinks, what man decides, and what man does, is simply the execution of the divine decree contains the facts that were fed into it by God's omniscience.

We see from this that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, who eternally existed as God before any creatures ever existed having omniscience that means having complete knowledge of everything that would ever happen in history, fed these facts into the decree.

We must also understand that God did not feed into the decree what did not happen but could have happened, even though He knew it in eternity. Once a person believes in the Lord Jesus Christ and is born again he could die physically in the next few minutes.

How can God reward or not reward, impute eternal blessing or not impute eternal blessing in such a case? God's omniscience knows exactly what would have happened if that person had lived to be 100 years old so God is fair when it comes to the judgment seat of Christ and the imputation of blessings for eternity.

The decree does not deal with probabilities or possibilities but only with realities or actualities. God's omniscience only fed what would happen, that in turn would be the cause of other events into the decree.

God fed into the decree the free will decisions of Esau and Jacob regarding Jesus Christ as He was revealed at the time. This became the reason that the Jewish race was perpetuated through Jacob and it also had the effect of determining true Israel on the basis of regeneration rather than biological genetic propagation.

God's omniscience knew in eternity past that Abraham would believe. God chose Abraham to be the father of the Jewish race. For 99 years Abraham was a Gentile and at age 100 God made him into a Jew.

Then Isaac and Jacob would follow that same pattern. So the readout for Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is election. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and their progeny who also believe following the pattern are elected. This is why the Jews are called God's chosen people.

Chosen means elected but they are elected on the basis of regeneration not genetics. Foreknowledge, predetermination, foreordination, predestination only relates to believers. The alternatives, comprised of Nahor, Ishmael, and Esau remained as Gentiles so they also remained under the principle of God's judgment, condemnation and wrath.

That is the printout from the decree. So true Israel always prints out election, foreknowledge and predestination on the basis of believing in Jesus Christ.
